2025 Toyota LandCruiser Prado gets wild Wald treatment

The tough off-roader gets even tougher with a body kit and custom wheels from the famed Japanese tuning house.

The 2025 Toyota LandCruiser Prado is due in Australia by the end of 2024, but has already been beefed up by famed Japanese car customiser Wald International.

The latest release from Wald International – the Osaka, Japan-based makers of custom body kits and aftermarket wheels – is a wildly modified Prado, known as the Toyota LandCruiser 250 Series in Japan and the United States.

What appears to be a computer-generated image of the front of the package has been posted on the company’s Instagram profile, revealing a comprehensive set of changes for the Toyota SUV.

While the factory version brings bold, confident styling, Wald has taken the Prado to another level with almost every panel given some sort of upgrade.

That sees custom lights, front grille and a wild front bumper – capped by a chunkier bonnet with a large air intake flanked by bulges on either side.

While the off-road tyres and six-spoke alloy wheels are also expected in toughening up an off-road SUV – and are wrapped in angular wheel arch extensions – looking upwards Wald has even modified the Prado’s roof.

The Japanese company has also shown a second version with different alloy wheels – a larger, more ornate design – with lower-profile tyres pitched at on-road glamour.

Wald body kits and alloy wheels range in price, with details yet to be shared on the Prado upgrades.

In Australia, online searches reveal Wald components for other vehicles priced from less than $1000 for wheel arch extensions, through to around $5000 for a complete body kit.

Wald is known for its overt styling packages with recent products made for the Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series, Aston Martin DBX707 and even the popular Suzuki Jimny small SUV.

Wald is far from the first to take to the 2025 Prado, with Modellista – the Japanese tuning arm of Toyota – releasing a package in July 2024 with parts able to be purchased individually or as a set (above).

The Toyota LandCruiser Prado is set to arrive in Australia by the end of 2024 and is one of the most highly anticipated new-vehicle releases this year.
