2026 Mercedes-AMG C43 Edition R+ brings down sports sedan point of entry

Slightly revised styling, but more affordable price tag, for new Mercedes-AMG C43 Edition R+ that is now available for $121,000 BOCs.

Mercedes-Benz Australia has launched a more affordable version of the AMG C43 with the Edition R+ hitting showrooms next month priced at $121,200 before on-road costs.

This puts it $2600 downstream of the standard Mercedes-AMG C43, despite adding small cosmetic changes.

To differentiate itself, the Mercedes-AMG C43 Edition R+ adds the AMG Styling Package that features a gloss-black finish on the front splitter, lower intake surrounds, rear spoiler, and diffuser.

This, combined with the already standard Night Package that already replaces the C-Class’ chrome exterior touches with gloss black, “delivers a cohesive and purposeful design”, according to Mercedes-Benz.

Also standard on the C43 is the AMG Dynamic Plus, bundling dynamic engine mounts, a Race drive mode, and a microfibre-lined steering wheel.

Power and torque still come from a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine with 48-volt mild-hybrid assistance, resulting in 310kW/500Nm outputs.

Drive is sent to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Inside, buyers of the C43 Edition R+ are treated to an 11.9-inch infotainment touchscreen with MBUX software, a head-up display, a panoramic sunroof, and front sports seats.

Other equipment highlights include 20-inch alloy wheels, red-painted brake callipers, adaptive suspension, and rear-wheel steering.

Orders are open for the 2026 Mercedes-AMG C43 Edition R+ now, and is available in conjunction with Mercedes’ end-of-financial-year offering of a 1.4 per cent comparison rate when financing through the brand.
