Zeekr 7X sales hit the brakes amid shipping delays
Port congestion and parts supply troubles have been attributed to a steady start for the Zeekr 7X, missing a target to deliver 2000 cars by the end of last year.
Deliveries of the Zeekr 7X electric SUV have been hit by “logistics delays” that have seen the brand miss its initial targets.
Zeekr claimed it had collected more than 2500 pre-orders prior to the first 7X deliveries in October 2025, at least 2000 of which would be in customers’ hands by the end of the year, it promised.
However, only 1206 sales had been reported by the end of December, with a further 418 listed in January – down from the 682 quoted for November, its first full month of deliveries.

A Zeekr spokesperson said the brand is “working around the clock to fulfil our pre-orders” after experiencing “some initial logistics delays”.
“We encountered some temporary delays due to a combination of global battery supply constraints and local port congestion,” they said.
“However, upcoming shipments will accelerate deliveries for our existing pre-orders and provide supply for new orders.”
Zeekr 7X deliveries began in mid-October 2025 with a batch of 100 cars in New South Wales, after 2500 pre-orders were collected – 1000 of which were placed in the first seven days.

The brand has previously set a target of 400 to 500 sales per month, though it was announced prior to the car’s strong pre-order response.
At the time deliveries commenced, 74 per cent of 7X buyers were new to electric vehicles, while 70 per cent were “transitioning from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles”.
It suggests a portion of customers previously owned electric cars, but returned to petrol or diesel before purchasing an electric vehicle again.
“I have had several discussions with customers of 7X,” Frank Li, managing director of Zeekr Australia and vice president of Zeekr International, told Drive in October.

“I think there are two groups. One group is coming from the ICE [petrol] car family, and most of those are coming from premium brands like BMW, Mercedes, and Audi.
“The customer, I met him, is our first 1000 pre-order customer … That gentleman is currently driving an Audi Q7 for family use, and also himself is driving a Porsche Macan, and he would like to trade in his Porsche Macan and get a brand-new 7X.
“… Another group actually is more EV-driven, so many of them [are] coming from Tesla.
“So they used to either have a Tesla, or have driven Tesla for quite a long time, so they know the driving experience of [an] EV, and then they get much more interested in our brand.”
