Best EOFY car sales in 2025

New-car deals are back this year, with some car brands slashing tens of thousands from the asking price of some popular models.

After years dealing with COVID-related issues, production slowdowns, and lack of stock, new-car end-of-financial-year deals are back in 2025 with a vengeance.

If you are looking for a new set of wheels, there is no better time to buy as brands from Jeep, Mazda, and Mitsubishi – as well as newcomers like Geely and Chery – look to clear out stock for the new financial year that starts on July 1.

With all deals running until June 30 – or while stocks last – you’ll have to be quick to snap up a bargain.

SMART #1 and #3: Entry-level Pro+ versions of the Smart #1 and #3 are being offered with free registration, stamp duty, third-party insurance and dealer delivery, as well as three years of scheduled servicing included, all valued at “over $5500”

BYD Dolphin electric-car arrival pushed back, due later this year alongside Seal sedan

Chinese electric-car giant BYD’s next two models for Australia – the city-sized Dolphin and larger Seal – are due closer to the end of this year than previously forecast. The Australian arrival of the BYD Dolphin electric hatchback has been delayed to the second half of this year, ahead of the BYD Seal electric sedan due before year’s end. BYD’s Australian distributor EVDirect has advised the  Dolphin  hatch is now due to open for orders in July 2023, and commence deliveries soon after – a delay compared to the first half of 2023 timing previously announced. The Tesla Model 3-sized Seal  sedan – previously confirmed for the “second half of 2023” – is now scheduled to open for orders and begin deliveries in the fourth quarter of 2023 (October to December), pending any further delays. The new flagship of the Toyota HiLux range was caught on camera in Thailand late last year wearing little disguise. Now we have created an artist impression of what it could look like. Last month we got our first look at a camouflaged version of the 2023 Toyota HiLux GR Sport , the flagship ute set to replace the range-topping Toyota HiLux Rugged X in Australian showrooms later this year. Now we have an artist impression of the 2023 Toyota HiLux GR Sport (pictured above) that aims to remove some of the camouflage of the test vehicle caught on camera in Thailand mid-December 2022.
