2025 Mercedes-Benz E-Class price and specs: Entry price cut $14,000 with E200 added

The entry-level Mercedes-Benz E200 has returned to the local E-Class line-up, seeing the cost of entry fall $14,000 and the revival of the upright Mercedes bonnet star as a no-cost extra.

  • E200 added to E-Class line-up in Australia; $14,100 less than E300
  • Exclusive Line available as a no-cost option with Mercedes bonnet star, unique grille, and brown maple wood trim
  • Priced from $117,900 before on-road costs

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz E-Class line-up has expanded further in Australia with the addition of a new E200 entry variant.

Priced from $117,900 before on-road costs, the addition of the E200 – which joins the E200 and AMG E53 4Matic+ plug-in hybrid (PHEV) – sees the entry cost of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class fall $14,100.

The E200 has been reintroduced into the E-Class line-up after a two-year hiatus in the switch to the new-generation model, which launched in 2024 in E300 guise only for a $26,431 increase to its entry cost.

The new-generation E200 is almost $13,000 dearer than the previous model – which started from $105,069 in 2023 – but it introduces more standard equipment, new technologies, a larger body, and a more powerful engine.

Standard equipment for the E200 largely matches the E300, with the removal of the MBUX Superscreen with a selfie camera, leather upholstery for ‘Artico’ artificial leather material, heated and ventilated seats, and rear privacy glass.

The E200 also sees the return of Mercedes-Benz’s standard ‘Avantgarde Line’ exterior design as standard, with the E300’s AMG-Line unavailable in the E200 – though it retains the E300’s 20-inch AMG multi-spoke alloy wheel design.

E200 buyers can select the Exclusive Line exterior design at no extra cost, adding an upright Mercedes bonnet star, a “classic” radiator grille with horizontal slats, 19-inch alloy wheels, and a brown open-pore maple wood trim element.

A $3500 Comfort Package adds the heated and ventilated front seats deleted from the standard E200, along with Tonka Brown or Macchiato Beige leather upholstery.

The rear-wheel-drive E200 retains a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine matched to a 48-volt mild-hybrid system and a nine-speed torque-converter automatic transmission, but it has reduced outputs at 150kW/320Nm – down from the E300’s 190kW/400Nm.

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz E200 is in showrooms now, joining the E300 and AMG E53 4Matic+ PHEV grades.
