2025 Nissan Patrol: Twin-turbo V6 outputs confirmed, off-road variant teased

The Y63 Nissan Patrol will be offered with a new 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6, as well as an off-road variant to rival the Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series GR Sport.

Power outputs for the new 2025 Nissan Patrol Y63 have been confirmed ahead of the new model’s reveal next week.

Nissan has officially announced the new Patrol will offer the same 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol as the related Infiniti QX80, however, it will offer slightly less power at 317kW compared to 335kW in the Infiniti.

Torque remains identical for the Nissan and Infiniti at 700Nm, with the Patrol’s outputs up 19kW and 140Nm over the 5.6-litre naturally-aspirated V8 in the current Y62 model.

It will be paired to a nine-speed torque-converter automatic transmission, up from the seven-speed unit in the current model.

An off-road-oriented version of the new Patrol Y63 has also been teased, which is likely to adopt the Pro-4X badge – also found on the Navara ute, and the Frontier sold in North America.

The variant will sport a gloss black grille with a red Nissan badge and three white-coloured slots, while it could also include a tougher lower bumper with built-in red tow hooks, similar to the latest Frontier Pro-4X.

Other potential changes could include; Bilstein off-road shock absorbers, all-terrain tyres, black exterior trim, and smaller alloy wheels to aid off-roading as a rival to the Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series GR Sport.

In contrast, standard versions of the new Patrol have been confirmed to offer wheel sizes as large as 22-inches. The current Patrol is limited to an 18-inch wheel option in Australia, although 20-inch wheels are offered in other markets.

Previous teasers have confirmed the Patrol will offer C-shaped vertical tail-lights with ‘sensitive pulse technology’, and an evolved ‘V-Motion’ grille with a closed-off upper section and a honeycomb-look lower section.

Drive will be on the ground in the Middle East for the reveal of the Y63 Nissan Patrol from 2:30am AEST on Wednesday 4 September, so stay tuned for more details.
