Can’t afford a Pagani Huayra R? This carbon-fibre racing simulator is the next best thing

This Pagani carbon-fibre driving simulator is said to be as close as you can get to driving the real Huayra R – without leaving the house.

Racing simulators are much like the real racing cars they’re meant to mimic – they can be as simple, or as detailed as wallets allow.

But the latest creation from Italian hypercar specialist Pagani takes the racing simulator to another level.

The bespoke Pagani Huayra R Driving Simulator is developed in partnership with simulator specialist Racing Unleashed, and is said to blend aspects of each company into one of the most technically advanced simulators on the market.

Pagani’s involvement entails carbon-fibre bodywork developed using the same autoclaves as real Pagani cars.

The green-tinted carbon fibre envelops a seating position said to match that of the full-size Pagani Huayra R.

The Italian company’s craftsmanship continues to metal stands housing the monitor and speakers milled from a single piece of aluminium, and the use of air vents typical of its hypercars, which help to cool the onboard computer’s processors.

Supporting components include hydraulic-assisted AP Racing brake pedals, also found in the Huayra R, and a single ultra-wide Samsung G9 monitor.

Beneath the bodywork, there are motion platforms enabling three axes of movement, a dynamic seatbelt system, and a powerful gaming computer to run the screens.

The simulator is paired with the professional version of popular racing simulator Assetto Corsa.

Using the software’s physics and sounds to mimic the real-life experience of driving a Huayra R, the simulator is claimed to use ‘kicker’ speakers and motors in the seat to emulate the V12 engine’s sounds and vibrations.

It is even claimed to be capable of mimicking the sensations felt when the car’s anti-lock brakes are applied.

Included with the simulator is a dedicated wooden flight case to transport the entire package.

For now the unique simulator is only available to customers who have bought a real Pagani Huayra R, as a means to get drivers familiar with the car in an environment where crashing has far fewer consequences.

However Pagani has said the simulator will be made available at a later date through its international dealer network.

No price has been shared for the detailed racing simulator, but as racing simulators go, it is likely to be high on the spectrum for price.
