Isuzu D-Max ute and MU-X 4WD could get hybrid option, more power

Isuzu Ute Australia says it is considering a more powerful Isuzu D-Max ute and Isuzu MU-X four-wheel-drive – as well as the option of hybrid technology in the future. Executives for the company said while it was too soon to disclose any technical details or likely arrival timing, they indicated Isuzu Japan is investigating the addition of a more powerful flagship in the D-Max ute range – and hybrid tech for the MU-X four-wheel-drive.

Thai media outlets including Headlight Magazine report Mitsubishi has sent invites to local media for the new Triton’s unveiling in Bangkok on 26 July 2023. Drive has previously reported on a global unveiling around the middle of this year, ahead of showroom arrivals due late this year or early next year. The design of the new Triton was previewed by the XRT Concept shown in Thailand earlier this year , with a larger body and tray than today’s model.
