Electric vehicle start-up Lordstown Motors on the verge of bankruptcy, new SEC filing reveals – UPDATE: CEO and CFO resign

UPDATE, 15 June 2021: Lordstown Motors' top two executives – CEO Steve Burns and CFO Julio Rodriguez – have resigned, the embattled company revealed overnight. Existing Director Angela Strand will reportedly stand in as executive chairwoman until a permanent CEO is appointed Meanwhile, Becky Roof – who, according to Linkedin, is the managing director of consultancy firm AlixPartners – will serve as interim CFO.

A facelift for the 2024 Tesla Model Y electric SUV may be less than nine months away – after a similar update to the related Model 3 sedan earlier this year – according to a new report. News agency Bloomberg reports Tesla has begun “preparation work” to ready its Shanghai, China factory for a “more obvious” exterior and interior update to the Model Y . Production “may start as soon as mid-2024”, according to the outlet – which could translate to Australian showroom arrivals by the end of next year, if the arrival timeline of the recent Model 3 update is a guide. Thai media outlets including Headlight Magazine report Mitsubishi has sent invites to local media for the new Triton’s unveiling in Bangkok on 26 July 2023. Drive has previously reported on a global unveiling around the middle of this year, ahead of showroom arrivals due late this year or early next year. The design of the new Triton was previewed by the XRT Concept shown in Thailand earlier this year , with a larger body and tray than today’s model.
