New Nissan GT-R due in late 2022 with mild-hybrid power – report

A new Nissan GT-R could arrive towards the end of 2022 with 48-volt mild-hybrid power, according to overseas reports. Japan’s Best Car claims strict CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) standards and noise regulations set to be introduced in Japan in 2021 will make Nissan’s current R35-generation GT-R increasingly difficult to sell in its existing 12L/100km non-electrified guise – forcing the brand to switch to ‘hybrid’ power.
