Israeli company claims fast-charging battery breakthrough – report

An electric vehicle (EV) battery capable of five-minute recharges may have been achieved by Israeli company StoreDot. According to The Guardian newspaper, StoreDot claims it's production-ready EV battery can provide 480km of driving range and be fully charged in five minutes – a little more than it takes to fill up the average petrol-powered car. However, the charger used to achieve this feat is far more powerful than commercial plugs currently available to EV drivers.

A facelift for the 2024 Tesla Model Y electric SUV may be less than nine months away – after a similar update to the related Model 3 sedan earlier this year – according to a new report. News agency Bloomberg reports Tesla has begun “preparation work” to ready its Shanghai, China factory for a “more obvious” exterior and interior update to the Model Y . Thai media outlets including Headlight Magazine report Mitsubishi has sent invites to local media for the new Triton’s unveiling in Bangkok on 26 July 2023. Drive has previously reported on a global unveiling around the middle of this year, ahead of showroom arrivals due late this year or early next year. The design of the new Triton was previewed by the XRT Concept shown in Thailand earlier this year , with a larger body and tray than today’s model.
