Auction bids for 'last' Holden Commodore double in 24 hours to $255,000

The top bid for the ‘last’ Holden Commodore assembled in Australia has more than doubled in less than 24 hours and now sits at $255,000 – with two days remaining before the auction concludes. The status of the vehicle is disputed – officially, the last Holden Commodore to ceremonially roll off the production line was kept by General Motors.

Chinese electric-car giant BYD’s next two models for Australia – the city-sized Dolphin and larger Seal – are due closer to the end of this year than previously forecast. A facelift for the 2024 Tesla Model Y electric SUV may be less than nine months away – after a similar update to the related Model 3 sedan earlier this year – according to a new report. News agency Bloomberg reports Tesla has begun “preparation work” to ready its Shanghai, China factory for a “more obvious” exterior and interior update to the Model Y . Thai media outlets including Headlight Magazine report Mitsubishi has sent invites to local media for the new Triton’s unveiling in Bangkok on 26 July 2023. Drive has previously reported on a global unveiling around the middle of this year, ahead of showroom arrivals due late this year or early next year.
