Toyota rather rudely shocked Australian new-car buyers with the announcement of its better-equipped but markedly more expensive new Yaris. While Toyota’s pre-launch information hinted at a sizeable step up in technology and safety equipment, few expected the price rise it would take to cover the cost of those inclusions.

A high-school teacher in the US could be more than $6000 out of pocket if he is found to have violated the terms of use of a rented Toyota Supra driven to a top speed record. A major update for the world’s best-selling new car is around the corner, with “more obvious” exterior and interior upgrades. What the updated Model Y could look like, illustrated by Theottle. A facelift for the 2024 Tesla Model Y electric SUV may be less than nine months away – after a similar update to the related Model 3 sedan earlier this year – according to a new report. News agency Bloomberg reports Tesla has begun “preparation work” to ready its Shanghai, China factory for a “more obvious” exterior and interior update to the Model Y . Production “may start as soon as mid-2024”, according to the outlet – which could translate to Australian showroom arrivals by the end of next year, if the arrival timeline of the recent Model 3 update is a guide. Thai media outlets including Headlight Magazine report Mitsubishi has sent invites to local media for the new Triton’s unveiling in Bangkok on 26 July 2023. Drive has previously reported on a global unveiling around the middle of this year, ahead of showroom arrivals due late this year or early next year.
