2021 Jeep Compass 4xe plug-in hybrid revealed, Australian arm 'monitoring market'

It’s been barely a week since Jeep unveiled a 6.4-litre V8-powered Gladiator concept, but in an effort to balance the karmic ledger, the brand has this week revealed a much greener plug-in hybrid version of the Compass small SUV. The new Compass 4xe as it will be known, and the smaller-still Renegade 4xe will be offered in EMEA regions (covering Europe, the Middle East and Africa) and form part of what Jeep is calling its “green evolution”.

Thai media outlets including Headlight Magazine report Mitsubishi has sent invites to local media for the new Triton’s unveiling in Bangkok on 26 July 2023. Drive has previously reported on a global unveiling around the middle of this year, ahead of showroom arrivals due late this year or early next year. The design of the new Triton was previewed by the XRT Concept shown in Thailand earlier this year , with a larger body and tray than today’s model. The new flagship of the Toyota HiLux range was caught on camera in Thailand late last year wearing little disguise. Now we have created an artist impression of what it could look like. Last month we got our first look at a camouflaged version of the 2023 Toyota HiLux GR Sport , the flagship ute set to replace the range-topping Toyota HiLux Rugged X in Australian showrooms later this year.
