2020 Volvo XC40 recalled: brakes are missing a critical component

Volvo Australia has issued a recall of 32 of its model-year 2020 XC40 SUVs due to a missing fastener in the braking system that could result in weak stopping power in an emergency. Affected vehicles were sold between 27 February 2020 and 18 March 2020. Lodged with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), the defect relates to the cars not being equipped with a nut that fastens the brake booster to the vehicle’s frame.
