Electric cars could have 'big impact' on Australia's energy supply

There is growing concern around the Australian power grid’s ability to handle the increasing uptake of electric cars in the country, with electricity industry regulators and providers calling for precautionary measures to prevent future supply and demand issues. The Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC), which is Australia's peak body for energy policy, recently put out an issues paper highlighting potential problems and calling for submissions from key stakeholders.
