Jaguar Land Rover approaches Geely and BMW for partnership – report

Geely has already bought Lotus and Volvo, invested in Smart, and joined Toyota in partnering with search engine Baidu. Now, if Geely's willing, Jaguar Land Rover could be pencilled into its increasingly full dance card. Bloomberg reports Jaguar Land Rover’s owner, the Tata Group, has approached Geely’s owner, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, to discuss a partnership. The Indian-owned automaker has also reportedly reached out to BMW.

A facelift for the 2024 Tesla Model Y electric SUV may be less than nine months away – after a similar update to the related Model 3 sedan earlier this year – according to a new report. News agency Bloomberg reports Tesla has begun “preparation work” to ready its Shanghai, China factory for a “more obvious” exterior and interior update to the Model Y . Production “may start as soon as mid-2024”, according to the outlet – which could translate to Australian showroom arrivals by the end of next year, if the arrival timeline of the recent Model 3 update is a guide. Thai media outlets including Headlight Magazine report Mitsubishi has sent invites to local media for the new Triton’s unveiling in Bangkok on 26 July 2023. Drive has previously reported on a global unveiling around the middle of this year, ahead of showroom arrivals due late this year or early next year.
