Ford USA recalls 1.4 million Focus models, Australia unaffected

Ford has issued a recall for over 1.4 million examples of the Focus in North America over a stalling issue, The fault revolves around the canister purge valve, which could get stuck in an open position – if this happens, an "excessive vacuum in the fuel system could cause deformation of the vehicle’s plastic fuel tank".
