Mercedes-Benz Australia's sales dip linked to consumer confidence

Mercedes-Benz Australia’s CEO, Horst von Sanden, says he’s not particularly concerned about dipping luxury car sales this year, though he admits consumer and business confidence is “not great”. Sales of the company’s passenger cars and SUV models are down 7.5 per cent this year, contrasting against six consecutive years of solid - often double digit - growth. Rivals BMW and Audi are in similar positions, down 3.8 per cent and 8.5 per cent respectively.
